Terms of Service
Version 2026-11
These terms are the agreement between you and the business that runs Stasho. They are written to be read in a few minutes. If a sentence is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Stasho is run by MAFF vof, Braziliestraat 23, 2000 Antwerpen, Belgium, enterprise number BE 0898.114.288. In these terms “Stasho”, “we” and “us” mean MAFF vof, and “you” means the person or business using Stasho.
- legal@stasho.xyz: questions about these terms or your data, and requests from authorities.
- report@stasho.xyz: reports of illegal content or abuse, and questions about a removal.
2. What Stasho is, and what it is not
Stasho hosts static sites and runs managed App VMs. Static sites are stored on a public content network and served over HTTPS. App VMs run on confidential compute nodes operated by independent node operators that Stasho does not own. For an App VM, Stasho is your provider: we choose the node and pay for it on your behalf.
What that means for you:
- No backups and no restore. We keep no backup of your sites, your VMs or the files your apps write. Files on an App VM stay on that VM only, and are lost when the VM is replaced, re-created or deleted. Keep a copy of anything you need.
- No availability promise. We do not promise that Stasho, your site or your VM will be reachable at any given time, or that anything you store will last.
- You decide what goes live. You choose the content, the domain and when it is published. Our templates, build steps and the agent that runs your apps on an App VM are technical presets: you pick them, you configure them, and you control what they deploy. We do not review, select or edit what you deploy, and we publish nothing on our own.
3. Your account
- Your account is your wallet: one account per wallet address. You sign in with a wallet you already have, or with email or a social login that creates a wallet for you.
- You are responsible for your keys and for everything your wallet signs. We do not hold your keys, so we cannot recover them or undo what they signed.
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the law of your country. If you are under 18 and live in Belgium, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms too.
- When you first sign in, you tell us whether you use Stasho for business or for personal use. You can change this in Settings, under Data & Privacy. Your choice decides whether section 9 or section 10 applies to you.
4. The free tier and the 14-day App VM trial
We may offer a free App VM trial so you can evaluate Stasho. When you start one, you accept this section with a second checkbox.
- A trial lasts 14 days, counted from when your VM starts (or from your request, if it never starts).
- There is one trial per wallet and one per personal GitHub account.
- Stasho limits how many trials can start each day and each month across all users. When a limit is reached, no new trial starts until the next day or month.
- We may stop or replace your trial VM at any time during the trial.
- At the end of day 14, the VM and all its data are deleted. There is no grace period and we keep no copy. Once your VM is running, we email you before the trial ends and again when it has ended; those emails are the notice.
- A trial is an offer to evaluate Stasho, not the main service these terms describe and not a service you are entitled to. Ending or withdrawing a trial is therefore not a failure to provide the main service, and not a breach of these terms.
5. Your content and how you use Stasho
- You own what you deploy.
- You allow us to store, pin, build and serve what you deploy, only as far as hosting it needs and only for as long as you keep it deployed. We take no other right to your content: we do not use, show, sell or reuse it for anything else.
- You confirm that what you deploy is lawful and that you have the right to publish it.
- You follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Someone else may bring a claim against us because of your content or your use of Stasho. If the cause lies with you, you compensate us for what that claim costs us, as far as the law allows.
6. How we handle illegal content and abuse
- Anyone can tell us about illegal content or abuse through the form at docs.stasho.xyz/report-abuse or by email to report@stasho.xyz. Authorities can also write to legal@stasho.xyz.
- A person reviews every notice. On a credible notice, or on an order from an authority, we may remove the content, suspend your account, or both. Stasho refuses requests from a suspended account to create, change or deploy. Content we did not remove, including a running App VM, stays as it is.
- When we act, we send you a statement of reasons, saying what we did and why, by email if we have an email address for you. We keep a record of every step.
- Removal is final. We keep no copy of removed content, only the address and fingerprints that identify it, and cannot put it back.
- To contest a decision, reply to the statement of reasons (replies reach report@stasho.xyz) or write to report@stasho.xyz. A person reviews it and tells you the outcome. You can also go to court.
- We may report illegal use to the authorities. We comply with lawful orders, and we report to the authorities any information suggesting a threat to someone’s life or safety.
7. Your data
How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy Notice. One thing to know before you start: your project and deployment records are written to a public network under your wallet address, and that network is permanent. Nobody, including us, can erase a record from the network; we can stop serving it and mark it removed; copies stay in the network’s history. Fields we encrypt become unreadable once the keys are gone, but the record stays.
8. When these terms change
- A change to these terms is a new version with a new date. We ask you to accept each new version the next time you sign in. If you do not accept it, you can end the agreement (section 11).
- Each version is pinned as a copy we keep, and when a version changes we keep both copies.
- MAFF vof may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over Stasho. If you use Stasho for business, our notice of the transfer is enough. If you use Stasho for personal use, we tell you first and you can end the agreement at no cost.
9. If you use Stasho for business
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you only use the free tier, that amount is zero.
- We are not liable for lost data, or for indirect loss such as lost profit, revenue, customers or reputation.
- These limits apply as far as the law allows.
- A data processing agreement is available for paid plans.
- Any dispute goes to the courts of Antwerp.
10. If you use Stasho as a consumer
- You keep every right that consumer law gives you. Nothing in these terms takes them away.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for harm we cause on purpose or through gross fault, or for failing to provide the main service these terms describe.
- You can take a dispute to the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the mandatory protections of its law, where EU law gives them to you.
11. Ending the agreement
- You can stop at any time: delete your projects and VMs, or ask legal@stasho.xyz to close your account. The Privacy Notice explains what closing removes and what stays.
- We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, as described in section 6.
- We may end the free tier with notice. A trial that is already running follows section 4.
12. General
- Belgian law governs these terms. If you use Stasho for personal use, section 10 also applies.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms and the Acceptable Use Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Stasho.
- We pin an exact copy of these terms on a public network. The pinned copy is the authentic text. Its sha256 is in your acceptance record, and the pinned copy is available to you on request.
